The impact of the women’s movement on today’s fashion?
The women’s movement has had no direct impact on fashion, but it did have a domino effect that lead to business dress for women. Some feminists have protested against fashion authorities who have tried to manufacture trends like “High Femininity” (i.e. ruffled dresses and pouf skirts at work) and Victorian lingerie (when Victoria’s Secret first showed up, men bought the lacy stuff and women just bought plain old underwear).
